Qurban’s arabic meaning is wide enough to comprise the closeness and being close both physically and spiritually. In religious terminology, it comprises the following meanings: the thing which you get closer to Allah (swt) with, getting closer to Allah(swt), the animal which is sacrificed in a certain date and time to get closer to Allah(swt).
